STOMP-ing Grounds

When: Fri., Jan. 16 2015
One person’s trashcan is another person’s musical instrument. That seems to be the mentality behind STOMP, the theater group that has banged it out on unconventional percussion for 20 years now. Founded in 1991 in the U.K., the group has participated in a wide range of endeavors. It’s worked with the Muppets and made its own IMAX film. The performers “make a rhythm out of anything we can get our hands on that makes a sound,” says co-founder/director Luke Cresswell in a press release. Tonight’s performance takes place at 7:30 at Playhouse Square’s Conner Palace, and tickets start at $10. Performances continue through Sunday. (Niesel)
