Streetlight Manifesto

When: Thu., Oct. 10, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $17.50 ADV, $20 DOS
When Tomas Kalnoky decided to re-record his old band’s debut album — Keasbey Nights by Catch 22 — he proved a major point by sticking it to Victory Records, which was planning to simply re-release the original album with bonus content. But Kalnoky does not fuck around. He and the rest of Streetlight Manifesto cut a thrilling take on the classic ska punk album, complementing the rest of their budding catalog. (Streetlight’s own debut, Everything Went Numb, is another iconic trip.) And still, the band continues to write killer albums. This year’s The Hands That Thieve builds on the band’s contribution to the genre. Everything sounds bigger on this one, evidenced mightily on album opener “The Three of Us.” Take a spin with the band’s latest material, test out your heartiest skanking moves and enjoy tonight’s show.
