Sum 41/Iamdynamite

The poster child band of new punk in the early 2000s is back. Well, technically Sum 41 never left, though no one’s really paid attention to the Canadian quartet since “Fat Lip,” the hit off their 2001 album Does This Look Infected?, which ironically enough is the subject of this tour, billed as a ten-year celebration of that album’s release. Since then, lead singer Deryck Whibley married and divorced fellow Canadian Avril Lavigne, guitarist Dave “Brownsound” Baksh left the band, and the group followed up with four more full-lengths, most recently 2011’s Screaming Bloody Murder. The album is proof that the band’s punk rock sound has definitely matured. (Nikki Hunt)
