Super Stuff

When: Thu., Aug. 20 2015
It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a book club meeting to discuss Superman’s most thoughtful installment: For Tomorrow. The Ohio Center for the Book will bring up dilemmas dealt with in Brian Azzarello’s gloomy take on the All-American hero today at 4 p.m. For Tomorrow begins just after millions of people have vanished from the planet. As Superman begins to piece together the disaster, he begins to question his faith, his abilities and his life purpose. The club, held biweekly, has already talked about the blood-soaked beginning of Batman and the strife of being a heroine rather than a hero. This latest discussion promises to bring up new issues in the industry like religion and the loss of a loved one as a plot device. It will begin on the second floor of the Cleveland Public Library.
