Suzan Kraus: Perspection

When: Fri., June 3 2016
The latest exhibitions at BAYarts showcase two artists, each seeking to communicate visually in their own unique way. In the Sullivan Family Gallery, Suzan Kraus: Perspection includes elements such as handmade paper and paint colors, assembled to create abstract visual narratives which reflect our personal thoughts and feelings by causing us to look simultaneously inward and outward. Meanwhile in the Diane Boldman Educational Gallery, Bill Forester: Facing Forward features self-portraits by the artist that serve as a passage through a threshold of recovery and celebrate life and love as the artist “faces forward.” Six years ago, a stroke took Forester’s voice. His need to communicate and be understood drove Forester to discover methods of creative expression beyond words, which offer him a broader and more nuanced language. Both exhibitions open with a reception from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Free. (Usmani)
