Everyone knows that rappers 50 Cent, Rick Ross and Mac Miller are hugely popular (and wealthy). But it might come as a surprise that Tech N9ne ranks right up there with them; Forbes magazine just listed him ahead of the aforementioned rappers in a recent "Hip Hop Cash Kings" article. Tech N9ne, whose career dates back to the early 2000s, tours some 200 days out of the year. Self-released through Strange Music, his latest album, Something Else, is his best effort yet. Big K.R.I.T., CeeLo Green, B.o.B., Game, Kendrick Lamar, Mayday!, T-Pain, System of a Down’s Serj Tankian and Wiz Khalifa all make guest appearances on it. Songs such “Fortune Force Field” and “I’m Not a Saint” are compelling tunes that feature deeply introspective lyrics. Tonight's show at the Agora is part of a 50-city tour featuring fellow Strange Music artists Krizz Kaliko, ¡Mayday!, Stevie Stone, Prozak and Ces Cru. (Niesel)
