The African Queen (1951)

John Huston's classic romantic adventure — starring Humphrey Bogart in his only Oscar-winning performance — celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. And there's no better place to see this sprawling work than on the big screen, perfect for taking in Huston's colorful vista. (Bonus points: It's a restored 35mm print!) Bogart plays a boozy boat captain who reluctantly ferries missionary Katharine Hepburn down the river — not as easy as it sounds, since she's kind of a pain in the ass and there are Nazis everywhere.
