The Big Year Staff Pick

The Big Year, a comedy from 2011, centers on a software engineer who can recognize any bird simply after hearing it sing, Brad (Jack Black) teams up with Stu (Steve Martin), a wealthy CEO and bird watching freak, to take on Kenny Bostwick (Owen Wilson), the reigning bird-watching champ. The movie follows the guys as they try to spot the Pink-footed goose, the Crested Myna and other rare species. The film screens tonight at 7 at the Cedar Lee Theatre as part of the Cleveland Cinemas' Reel Science series. Andy Jones, the Cleveland Museum of HIstory's Director of Science and Curator of Ornithology, will introduce the film and lead a discussion. Tickets are $7.50, $5 for Cleveland Cinemas Marquee Rewards members. (Jeff Niesel)
