The Black Twig Pickers have spent the summer “romping up and down the country and into Canada” so they should be primed for tonight’s show at Mahall’s. The band generally features not one but two fiddlers and plays old time music that you can dance to (and people do dance, if the video clip they have on their Website is any indication). In Roanoke, where band members reside, they play at an old country store on a regular basis and draw huge crowds. This show is open to the public but it also serves as the rehearsal dinner for the wedding of local label owner/Tri-C professor Matt Laferty, who’s more than willing to have the general public at the club.
