The Eyes Have It Staff Pick

When: Fri., Nov. 8 2013
Given that Cleveland Public Theatre just played host to a Day of the Dead celebration, it makes sense that the company has now introduced a new program designed to help Latinos become involved in theater. Created and written by CPT artistic director Raymond Bobgan and an ensemble cast of amateur and professional performers, Cuando Cierras Your Eyes (the theater alternately bills the play as When You Close Tus Ojos) combines comedy and drama as it tells the story of a young priest straight out the seminary who finds he has to officiate three funerals on his first day on the job. Tonight and tomorrow’s performances kick off at 6 with a pre-party; the play follows at 7. A dance party featuring local DJs follows at 8. Tickets are $6. (Niesel)
