The Forbidden Room

When: Sat., Oct. 31 2015
Canadian director Guy Maddin has a reputation for making experimental, nearly inscrutable films. His effort, The Forbidden Room, has been described as "a compendium of absurdist mini-melodramas inspired by movies of the late-silent, early-sound era, and rendered in distressed visuals using the primitive, archaic techniques of that bygone time." Yikes. Today at 5 p.m. and tomorrow night at 8:10 p.m., the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque presents the local premiere of the movie. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
