The Hunt for the Last Public Enemy #1

Live train heist re-enactment and author visit! Discover the life and crimes of Alvin “Creepy” Karpis, the last Public Enemy Number One of the Great Depression era. He plagued Ohio, compiling a record of 15 bank robberies, 14 murders, and 54 aliases. Julie Thompson spent six years researching Karpis’s criminal career for her book, "The Hunt for the Last Public Enemy in Northeastern Ohio." But Thompson won’t just discuss her book when she visits the library. Instead, Thompson and a team of actors will reenact one of Karpis’ infamous train heists. Free program. Registration required.
