The Hustler

When: Sat., Dec. 7 2013
In Portrait of Jason, director Shirley Clarke's 1967 documentary, Jason Holliday, the film's subject, admits that he's a hustler who would do anything to keep from having to punch a clock. A real eccentric who speaks in a highly effeminate manner, Jason is a true character who encapsulates the countercultural side of the '60s. Tonight at 9:25 and tomorrow night at 6:30, the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque shows a newly restored print of the film that Ingmar Bergman called "the most extraordinary film I've seen in my life." Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
