The Jazz Singer at Maltz

When: Wed., July 27 2011
If you're a nascent film buff looking for somewhere to start, begin at the beginning with tonight's showing of The Jazz Singer at the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage. The first synchronized "talkie" in history, it's the story of a young man whose dream of becoming a performer conflicts with his religious upbringing. Part of the Maltz Museum's "Jewish Americans on Film" series, it begins at 7 p.m. and will be followed by a talk-back session. Tickets are $12 at the door or $10 in advance at 216-593-0575. For more information, visit The museum is at 2929 Richmond Rd. in Beachwood. — Munnell
