The Killers

When: Mon., Aug. 5, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $47.50
Inspired by U2 and the Cure, the Killers are the kind of rock band that likes to experiment with different kinds of riffs. On last year's Battle Born, songs such as “Runaways,” “The Way it Was” and “Miss Atomic Bomb” suggest Brandon Flowers is nurturing his poetic sensibilities. The album has a mellow, retro vibe. Not as produced as, say, 2004's Hot Fuss or 2006's Sam’s Town, the album has more of a raw rock sound. While the set list is likely to focus on material from Battle Born, the guys will likely perform big anthem hits like “Smile Like You Mean It,” “Somebody Told Me” and “Mr. Brightside” for this show, a stop on their first tour in four years.
