The Last Waltz of the It Men with Cobra Verde/The It Men/Hot Rails/New Lou Reeds/Charles Hill Jr.

When: Sat., June 1, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $25
Tonight’s benefit concert for the Ken Janssen Medical Fund promises an evening of solid rock and eleemosynary good times. The lineup includes Cobra Verde, The It*Men, Hot Rails, New Lou Reeds, and Charles Hill Jr. On paper, it’s a pretty terrific night of rock ’n’ roll. Janssen, a founding member of both The It*Men and The Hot Rails, is suffering from Lou Gehrig’s Disease and needs help with medical expenses, so this show is designed to help raise some moolah. But knowing Janssen, we’re pretty sure he wants this to be a celebration of sorts so you can bet your ass it’s gonna be a fun time. Cobra Verde sets are always mainlined sojourns to the heart of Cleveland’s brashly cool music scene. Similarly, the garage-based grooves of The It*Men promise a heady collection of tunes onstage at the Beachland. Get prepped by throwing “Baby I’m Your Man” on the ol’ Motorola and just ROCKING OUT. Bonus: $1 of every Heineken sold will benefit the Ken Janssen Medical Fund. (Eric Sandy)
