The Old Dark House

James Whale (Frankenstein) directs The Old Dark House, a 1932 horror film about the maniacs and murderers who live in a haunted mansion. Boris Karloff, Charles Laughton, Melvyn Douglas, Gloria Stuart and Ernest Thesiger star in the movie that one critic calls "the greats of all horror films." At 6:20 tonight and at 4:50 on Sunday afternoon, the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque shows a new 4K digital restoration of the movie. Tickets are $10, $7 for Cinematheque members and students. (Niesel)
