The Pretty Reckless/Heaven's Basement/Louna

Pretty Reckless singer Taylor Momsen began acting when she only 3 years old. Since then, she has had some great acting gigs. She was on the TV show Gossip Girl for many years and she played the role of Cindy Lou in Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. But she's always loved rock 'n' roll too. "My dad had a huge vinyl collection and I grew up listening to the Beatles," says Momsen who hasn't acted in five years. "I'm still listening to the Beatles. And I love Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd and AC/DC. I also liked all the '90s stuff, like Soundgarden and Pearl Jam." She started writing her own songs when she was still a kid and then formed Pretty Reckless in 2007. The band made its debut in 2010 with a self-titled EP and followed it up with another EP, Hit Me LIke a Man, an album of heavy grooves and caterwauling vocals. The band has just finished a new studio album that it hopes to release next year. "We just really wanted to write for no purpose other than to write a good song," she says. "We honed in on a sound and we really know what we sound like now." Given that it's Halloween, you can expect the band to break out some costumes for the occasion. (Niesel)
