The Sculptor's Story

When: Fri., Sept. 26 2014
One of America’s best-known playwrights, Edward Albee wrote The Occupant as a tribute to American sculptor Louise Nevelson, who immigrated from the Ukraine to the United States as a child. It’s staged as a Q&A session between two actors and includes actual conversations that Nevelson had when she was alive. The play includes bits about her early inspirations (a trip to see African art in Paris, for starters) and her unhappy marriage to a New York businessman. Tonight’s performance takes place at 8 at Kennedy’s Theatre. Tickets are $15. Performances continue through Oct. 25. (Niesel)
