The Vinyl Solution

When: Sat., April 19 2014
A couple of years ago, record labels started a tradition called Record Store Day. Designed to drive consumers to the indie brick and mortar stores that have been hurt by digital sales of music, Record Store Day offers fans the chance to get limited releases. These releases aren’t available online and labels and distributors do their damnedest to ensure product goes directly to the stores. Some of the releases slated to come out today include albums by Steve Earle, David Bowie, Nirvana and the Ramones. You should be able to find them locally at stores such as My Mind’s Eye, Record Den, the Exchange, Music Saves and many more. Consult the Record Store Day website for a complete list of stores as well as releases. (Niesel)
