VODKA VODKA returns in February. Limited early bird tickets are on sale right now!

The week's best releases from the pop-culture universe.

CD -- Surrounded: Björk's seven studio albums get a sonic facelift on this terrific DualDisc boxed set. For once, the DTS surround-sound remastering actually benefits the material, bringing out previously hidden aural wonders -- from a cornucopia of found sounds on 2001's Vespertine to majestic a cappella on 2004's Medlla. You'd swear there's a freaky Icelandic woman in the room with you.

DVD -- Awesome; I Fuckin' Shot That!: The Beastie Boys gave video cameras to 50 fans to shoot its sold-out 2004 Madison Square Garden concert. The result is this dizzy, bizarre, and thoroughly enjoyable document. Audience members aim cameras at the stage, turn them on themselves, and bring them into the bathroom. A fascinating experience that comes loaded with DVD extras.

TV -- Decades Rock Live: Elvis Costello: Costello duets with Death Cab for Cutie and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong in the latest installment of this VH1 Classic series, which pairs music legends with folks they've influenced. Backstage interviews and a recap of Costello's oeuvre hammer home his impact. The show airs at 8 p.m. Friday.

CD -- Le Fil: Last year, French singer Camille sang bossa nova covers of Joy Division and the Cure with Nouvelle Vague. She's just as mystifying and daring on her second solo album. Minimalist backing tracks fill the space around Camille's handclaps, bird sounds, and playful vocals. Be sure to check out her totally Gaelic, nearly folk take on the human beatbox. Who says the French don't have a sense of humor?

BOOK -- The Lost Blogs: Historical figures -- from Shakespeare to Abe Lincoln -- enter the modern era with this tongue-in-cheek look at blogs through the ages. Writer Paul Davidson offers web journals written by more than 200 famous people. Best are the posts by Socrates (musing on his blog's philosophical nature) and Rock Hudson, who's barely keeping the closet door closed with his "close buddy" list.

VIDEOGAME -- NFL Head Coach: This pigskin simulator (for PS2 and Xbox) is perfect for folks who like the play-calling of other football games, but have a hell of a time controlling the QB. You choose a team on draft day, then push beefy linebackers and agile running backs through practices, drills, and locker-room rundowns. Come game day, you stand on the sidelines, barking orders. A shoo-in for Best Videogame at the 2006 Control Freaks Awards.

COURTESY FLUSH, PLEASE -- Stand Up or Shut Up!: Like Last Comic Standing, this reality show (airing at 7:50 p.m. Friday on Starz Comedy) centers on the world of stand-up comedians. Unlike Last Comic Standing, there aren't many jokes. Instead, cameras follow six aspiring funny people through dull orientation and even more boring classes at the American Comedy Institute. Eventually, they'll graduate with a performance at a N.Y.C. club. It merits an F, which doesn't stand for "funny."
