Join the Chorale for our annual holiday concert, Carols & Choruses of Christmas, conducted by John Drotleff. This sparkling evening of choral and orchestral music will feature the talented young singers of the Avon Lake High School Merples directed by Michael Lisi. Seasonal works by Vivaldi, Handel, Poulenc, Tchaikovsky and others, plus carol singing with the audience. A free reception will follow.

In the Columbus suburb of Powell is Zoombezi Bay, a water park run by the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium. This may be the best water park in the state with the first waterslide in the country to incorporate light and audio effects and Baboon Lagoon, a multi-level play structure with a 1,000 gallon bucket dump. If you land in the camp of critics who believe, without much empirical evidence, that Cleveland has too many breweries, know this: Immigrant Son is not your typical brewery (nor is it in Cleveland). Equal attention has been paid to the four main elements of the operation – beer, food, service and setting – so that even if you don’t happen to fancy a frosty pint of crisp, clean, straw-colored Kölsch, you needn’t sit there and squawk.
