The Whiskey Daredevils

The Whiskey Daredevils' Old Favorites (Knock Out)

Whiskey Daredevils cowpunk Bad Brains Whiskey Daredevils CD-release party. Friday, December 7, at the Beachland Ballroom.

The Whiskey Daredevils are best known for their anti-hipster anthem "Ironic Trucker Hat." That's about to change. It's only a matter of time before every jukebox in the city has the band's new CD in constant rotation. It's a custom-mixed cocktail made for hard-drinking rock fiends who genuinely enjoy Pabst Blue Ribbon, 40-weight alt-country, and dirty old-school punk. On their third album, Cleveland's reigning cowpunks put their spurs to hardcore classics and ride 'em roughshod. Frontman Greg Miller takes the Bad Brains' "Pay to Cum" and wraps it around Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" till it comes out sounding like the Rawhide theme. Whether you love punk or hate it, get ready to twist.
