Thea Vidale

A few years back, comedian Thea Vidale became so popular that the major TV networks came calling. Tonight's show starts at 7:30 at the Improv. The heavyset woman likes to tell jokes about marijuana and Jesus — and sometimes she combines the two. "God put weed on the earth so people can get along," she likes to say, adding that she doesn't care to be around drunk people. Rather than rely on a narrative style, Vidale uses a rapid-fire delivery to launch her one-liners. Tickets are $17. Vidale has shows scheduled at the club through Sunday. (Niesel)
