Theeb

Set in Ottoman-controlled Arabia during World War I, Naji Abu Nowar's Theeb centers two brothers who must escort a British military officer across the barren desert. The film features beautifully lensed shots of the boys traversing the white sands as they encounter bandits and mercenaries along the way. Just nominated for an Oscar, the film screens at 4:15 p.m. today at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinemthaque. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
