This Artist Life

The Cleveland Arts Prize is the oldest award of its kind in the United States. For more than 45 years, the organization has recognized local individual artists and arts advocates with special awards. Currently, the Cleveland Arts Prize awards $10,000 to two emerging artists, two mid-career artists and one lifetime achievement award recipient (as well as two special prizes that don’t include cash awards). Today from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Convivium33 Gallery at Josaphat Arts Hall hosts This Artist Life, a LIVEcast moderated by David Giffels (CAP 2010) with special performances by George Bilgere (CAP 2003) and Mary Weems (CAP 2015). The evening also includes a cash bar, a live auction of arts experiences and a silent auction featuring original artwork by CAP recipients. Admission is free, but table packages are available. “A giant burrito from Taco Tontos. The regular is filling but the portion of a giant is what a burrito should be. Bonus points if you get the cheeseburgerito. You will not be disappointed.”
