Toad the Wet Sprocket

When: Thu., Aug. 16, 8 p.m. 2018
Price: $50-$140
A Matchbox 20-meets Goo-Goo Dolls late ’80s/early ’90s rock band, Toad the Wet Sprocket claimed our hearts many years ago with its melodic tunes. Catchy as hell, “All I Want” still maintains an edge. The track tells the story of longing to feel close to someone. “Walk on The Ocean” shines with its perfect string production and metaphoric lyrics. “Something’s Always Wrong” is a frustration anthem for people who can’t seem to make it work, even when they want to. “Fall Down” explores a darker side of the band; the notes are deeper, the lyrics are more angsty and the sound is louder overall. “Good Intentions” brings the band back to its roots with a quick and quirky Barenaked Ladies vibe, but the song slows down at parts giving it depth.
