Tommy's Tune

When: Thu., Sept. 25 2014
You might remember Tommy Davidson from the sitcom In Living Color. In addition to acting, he does standup, and his routine is definitely off-color, though pretty hilarious. He admires white women for their ability to fix things, from speaking up in a crowd to their funny way of politely (and yet scathingly) calling out bad customer service. But it’s not really the jokes that are the funniest part — it’s his dead-on impressions of people from the various tiers of society that he’s making the jokes about that make his show funny. Other humorous fodder includes the difference between dating white girls and black girls, the Spanish channel in America, and the way Obama does “white-boy karate” when he makes his speeches. It’s all in good fun though. He takes the Improv stage tonight at 7:30 and has more appearances scheduled through Sunday. Tickets range from $20 to $44. (Trenholme)
