Too Late

When: Thu., June 16 2016
A clever neo-noir flick by former Clevelander Dennis Hauck, Too Late stars John Hawkes as a private eye whose pursuit of a stripper leads him through an assortment of colorful L.A. locales and lowlifes. Shot in 35-mm Techniscope, the film comprises five long takes, each lasting up to 22 minutes. The L.A. Times calls it “a strangely involving idiosyncratic masterwork.” It screens at 6:30 tonight and at 8:15 on Sunday at the Cleveland Cinematheque. Tickets are $10, or $8 for members. Following Sunday’s showing, the Cinematheque will screen Hauck’s 18-minute Sunday Punch, a dark little crime thriller made in 2010. (Wohler)
