Two New Exhibits

When: Fri., March 7 2014
There’s a whole lot going on at MOCA tonight, with two exhibits opening together and a family art studio geared towards kids 10 and under. DIRGE and Sara VanDerBeek are the two exhibitions. DIRGE: Reflections on [Life and] Death is a collection of works in different medias by various artists that explores the complexities of death. The works attempt to both capture and reflect on the finality of death and focus on the more powerful aspects of living. Head upstairs to the Sara VanDerBeek exhibit for a series of works that explores the construction of images and the passage of time. These pieces include photography, sculpture and performative gestures that relate to architectural elements found in cities. There will be some pieces of Cleveland in the work, and the Family Art Studio involves activities using the approaches used in this exhibit. Everything starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
