Unknown Mortal Orchestra/Klaus Johann Grobe

When: Tue., July 19, 8:30 p.m. 2016
Price: $15 ADV, $18 DOS
Describing their sound as “psychedelic maximum R&B,” New Zealander Ruban Nielson’s Unknown Mortal Orchestra has been changing the rules of indie pop since its 2011 self titled debut. Their latest, Multi-Love, offers a wider exploration of what the band is capable of while also delivering some of their most accessible material to date. The title track, with its meandering vocal melodies and catchy chord progression, run circles around the listener’s brain while at the same time invading it from all sides. UMO’s live show promises to elevate that experience tenfold. (Shvely)
