Voices Carry

When: Mon., Jan. 19 2015
Martin Luther King Jr. once said, “Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” To honor the great political activist, the Maltz Museum of Jewish Heritage will offer a free, day-long community celebration. Dubbed Hear Our Voices: Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the event takes place from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The day includes a tribute to Connie Harper, a civil rights advocate and longtime Call & Post associate publisher and executive editor; a spoken word performance by Aaron Levy Samuels, a Pushcart-nominated poet, TEDx speaker and facilitator of critical identity discussions; and a musical performance led by Cleveland Blues Society founder and musician Bob Frank.
