Weird Science

When: Tue., July 22 2014
Another Tuesday, another funky event at the Happy Dog. Tonight’s gathering is the science-inspired Life, the Universe, and Hot Dogs series, featuring a NASA man talking all about data. Data! I recognize that most people don’t fetishize Microsoft Excel the way I do, but this nonetheless looks like a pretty cool evening. Herbert Schilling — he just sounds like a genius, doesn’t he? — will be discussing ways to store, visualize and interact with just obscene amounts of data. He’ll also get into the weeds about sweet, cheap data apps and maybe even profiting from data exploration and use. I don’t know. Could be a bust, but even if you realize you’re bored after 15 minutes, you can always go back to your hot dog and beer and watch the Indians. Like all Happy Dog events, this one’s free and open to the public. It starts at 7:30 p.m. (Allard)
