Xavier Rudd/Emmanuel Jal/Christina Holmes

When: Tue., July 25, 8 p.m. 2017
Price: $30.50 ADV, $35 DOS
Socially conscious singer-songwriter and didgeridoo master Xavier Rudd has been sharing kind messages and dynamic tunes around the world for years (nevermind that KFC kerfuffle). With a range of instruments before him onstage, Rudd captivates an audience that blends people from far-reaching corners of life, and his shows in Cleveland (however sparing) have been colorful and dance-worthy events for multiple music scenes in our town. In 2015, Rudd assembled the United Nations for his last album, Nanna, in 2015. He spoke with Scene upon the release of that album and his work with the United Nations, saying, “That’s the beautiful thing with the group. The songs are basically roots-reggae songs, but I basically wanted to convey a message of freedom and for people to bring their culture and their musical experience to the table. It’s quite vast, actually, as far as influences go there.” (Sandy)
