Reportedly the inspiration for John Goodman’s character in the Coen Brothers’ latest movie Inside Llewyn Davis, the late Doc Pomus is an American icon. The blues singer helped introduce Lou Reed to the music business and Reed reads from Pomus’ journals in A.K.A. Doc Pomus, a documentary about Pomus that screens at 6:45 tonight and at 8:10 p.m. on Sunday at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. The film includes archival photos and testimonials from friends who remember the man’s music. Tickets are $9. (Jeff Niesel
