Brecksville Bound

A few weeks ago, Scene excerpted an essay from The Hard Way on Purpose, David Giffels’ brand-spanking new book about the Rust Belt, its history, aesthetic, and ethos. The essay, as it happened, was about hometown houserocker Michael Stanley, but other Giffels’ clips have been cropping up on media outlets nationwide. Giffels has been traveling around the Midwest on a reading tour, and tonight he’ll make a stop in Brecksville at the Cuyahoga County Public Library to read from his book. This book is really really, really good, and if you’re from the region or feel a deep connection to it, you’ve gotta hear this guy read. He’ll start at 7 this evening. (Allard)
