City Lights/Set to Reflect/Nate Deezy/The Scenic Route/Play Onwards
When: Sun., Sept. 1, 7 p.m. 2013
Maintaining the pop-punk vigil from their Columbus roost, City Lights have been infusing their music with youthful energy since 2008. Take the song “Hang Out.” It’s the sort of anthemic tune that calls to mind twilit summer evenings, still blinking with memories from your early teen years. Following 2011’s In It To Win It, the band dropped a nice acoustic album that underscores singer Oshie Bichar’s heartfelt lyrics. And there’s some great harmonic work in “I Made A Song On Garage Band And All I Got Was This Lousy Record Deal,” if you’ll pardon the questionable (yet very *of-its-time*) song title. Set to Reflect, Nate Deezy, The Scenic Route and Play Onwards will set the stage for City Lights’ gig tonight. (Sandy)
