Funny Lady

Standup comic Aisha Tyler has reached that echelon to which many comics aspire. She’s more than just a stand-up. Tyler, who has been on the comedy circuit for nearly 20 years, had a big breakthrough in the early 2000s when she hosted Talk Soup, before it was cool to host Talk Soup. More recently, she wrote a book and started up a popular podcast. She jokes that only her father thinks she doesn’t work hard enough. Tyler, who casually talks about women that she thinks are hot, thinks like a guy (and she admits her audience is likely mostly 20-year-old guys who may or may not be masturbating while they listen to her) and that’s part of her appeal. She’s funny, smart and attractive and puts on a terrific standup show. She performs tonight at 7:30 and 10 and tomorrow night at 7 and 9:30 at Hilarities. Tickets are $23 to $25. (Niesel)
