Guster

With a robust string-based ensemble — guitar, bass, cello and more — this show featuring the Guster String Players (essentially the alter ego of indie rockers Guster) is sure to delight. Past performances of this iteration of the band have proven to be interactive and upbeat. Tonight promises to be just that. The band’s recently released album, Live Acoustic, shows off what the previous year has offered the Guster community. These acoustic sets began in earnest last year when the group took to the road with nothing but their string instruments and keen senses of humor. It’s a return to the band’s roots — both in terms of the stripped-down musicianship and the throwback to how Guster’s songwriting began in the early 1990s. (Eric Sandy)
