Karma to Burn/The Great Iron Snake/Venomin James/Hatchet Job
When: Fri., Dec. 14, 9 p.m. 2012
After their self-titled debut album flopped in 1997, Karma to Burn made the drastic decision to fire their singer and continue as an instrumental rock trio. Subsequently, their label kicked them to the curb, and they’ve been struggling ever since. And yet, free from vocals and lyrics, the band was able to add more dimensions to its heavy sound and emphasized the psychedelic and heavy metal side before calling it quits in 2002. After a seven-year hiatus, K2B came back in 2009 and teamed up with Year Long Distance singer-guitarist Daniel Davies for the 2011 album V. He didn’t stick around for long, however, and now the band is back to a trio for the current tour. (Nikki Hunt)
