Local Hero

A local photographer who also works as the director of the Reinberger Galleries at the Cleveland Institute of Art, Bruce Checefsky has made indie short films for the past 13 years. He just completed Witch’s Cradle, a remake of a now lost 1943 film by experimental filmmaker Maya Deren. To mark the occasion, the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque will show all 8 of his previous films tonight at a special screening that begins at 6:45. Checefsky will be on hand to answer questions after the screening. Tickets are $9. (Jeff Niesel)
