The makers of The Black Power Mixtape, a terrific collection of never-before-seen footage of Civil Rights activists from the 1960s, are behind Concerning Violence, a new found-footage film that finds singer Lauryn Hill reading from the 1962 book The Wretched of the Earth, an account of the decolonization and liberation of Africa, while footage from the ’60s screens. The film makes its debut tonight at 6:45 and screens again tomorrow night at 9:15 at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. (Niesel)
