“On a Western device, you push a button and get a result. On a Soviet instrument, you push a button and get something,” says one of the subjects in Elektro Moskva, a documentary film about Soviet-era electronic music and instruments. One of the movie’s subjects, Leon Theremin, invented the world’s first electronic instrument. Other synthesizers were byproducts of the Soviet military. The film makes its Cleveland premiere tonight at 7 at the Cleveland Museum of Art. Tickets are $9. (Niesel)
