An associate professor in Case's Department of Classics, professor Rachel Sternberg gives a "faculty work-in-progress" lecture today about "tears of compassion" in classical Athens. She'll argue that Plato observed that men began crying more because of the effects of poetry. Part of the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities lecture series, the talk takes place at 4:30 p.m. in Clark Hall Room 206. A reception that takes place at 4:15 p.m. precedes the event. Admission is free. (Niesel)
