Over the years, writer-director Gus Van Sant has made some terrific films, including Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho and Good Will Hunting. His latest effort, The Sea of Trees, features an-star cast (Matthew McConaughey, Naomi Watts, Ken Watanabe). It centers on a math teacher who goes to Japan to kill himself in the country's "suicide forest." The movie makes its local theatrical debut today at 6:30 p.m. at the Cleveland Institute of Art Cinematheque. Tickets are $10, $7 for members and students. (Niesel)
