Tri-C's Theatre Department presents the first College-wide production, story by Harper Lee, adapted by Christopher Sergel, and directed by Bob Ellis.
The story is set in 1935, with Scout and her brother, Jem, being raised by their widowed father, Atticus, and a strong-willed housekeeper, Calpurnia. Rising tensions in the community lead Scout to question the cause. She learns from her father that the tensions stem from his legal defense of a young Negro wrongfully accused of a grave crime. This play explores the racial tensions of the early 20th-century South and applauds the strength of those who fight injustice.
