With his signature cowboy hat, large body-build and sly Southern smile, Toby Keith is the poster boy for country music. But, despite all that conservative Southern influence, Keith falls in the middle politically. He supported Bush in the 2000s as a registered Democrat and has made numerous statements disavowing the Iraq War and showing love for Sarah Palin, while simultaneously fervently supporting the troops overseas every chance he gets. There is one thing Keith has consistently supported — a cold, hard drink. “Red Solo Cup” has become the anthem of every drunken party and now, his catchy 2013 single “Drinks After Work” looks to continue the country artist’s party-song repertoire. The song is an ode to all the hard-working stiffs out there that need to take the edge off after a full day. Luckily, most people won’t have to worry about work in the morning come the hangover that is sure to ensue from this country laden lawn party. (William Hoffman)
