Todd Rundgren

Master songwriter and producer Todd Rundgren has done much to advance various corners of the American rock world. His prolific career, which can be looked at from many different angles, has led us to 2017’s White Knight, which features a bevy of guest musicians that intersect with different points in Rundgren’s career. There’s Steely Dan’s Donald Fagen, for instance, and then there’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross; the latter appear on the mournful breakbeat dirge of “Deaf Ears,” which name-drops The Hunger Games. We imagine you’ll hear a nice cross-section of this new Rundgren material alongside the classics. We’re partial to Something/Anything?, which is mandatory listening — from the post-Thanksgiving return to the college dorm room or the some nice Sunday morning listening. (Eric Sandy)
