Billed as “a global movement that celebrates, empowers and supports women in business to alleviate poverty,” Women’s Entrepreneurship Day comes to Cleveland for the first time today. The event, which takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at the Linsalata Alumni Center of Case Western Reserve University, will feature founder, social entrepreneur and Cleveland native Wendy Diamond. She launched the Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization in 2014 to “bring more support and awareness to the global impact of women in business.” The event will include a session on how business can contribute to neighborhood revitalization. Panelists include Christie Murdoch, owner of the Banyan Tree boutique, and Melissa Khoury, co-owner of the Saucisson artisanal butcher shop. Tickets to the event are available on the WED Cleveland website. (Niesel)
