A Dozen Years In, Tastebuds Debuts a Food Truck

"Food trucks provide an incredible sense of freedom," says Bridget McGinty, owner of the tucked-away but popular lunch time eatery Tastebuds (1400 E. 30th St., 216-344-1770).

It is precisely that feeling of freedom that inspired McGinty to go mobile by rolling out the brand new Tastebuds food truck. "After a successful 12 years, adding a second location that is mobile will help us to continue meeting the demand for healthy lunches that are affordable and fast," she explains.

Hitting the road two weeks ago, the Tastebuds truck works hand-in-hand with businesses and property owners who desire food service but lack the necessary facilities. The inevitable goal, adds McGinty, is to establish a regular route with consistent times and locations throughout the St. Clair Superior, Midtown and Asiantown neighborhoods.

Diners can look forward to an ever-shifting menu of seasonal dishes, but McGinty promises that restaurant favorites will always be a part of the mix. "We will be sure to include the items that made us famous: our signature Greek pasta, gourmet salads, and chicken and chorizo burritos."

Fans of Tastebuds can keep tabs on the truck through Facebook.
